Obituary
SHIPSHEWANA — Mary Ellen Yoder, 71, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at her residence.
She was born Oct. 24, 1942 in LaGrange County, to Leo M. and Mima LuElla (Miller) Yoder.
On Sept. 2, 1965 in LaGrange County, she married Marvin W. Yoder, who survives.
Other survivors include her four daughters, Esther LuElla (Perry) Hershberger Jr., Middlebury, Dorothy Ellen (Orva L.) Beechy, Shipshewana, Fannie Irene (Scott) Miller, LaGrange, and Barbara Arlene (Gary) Magallanes of, Warren, Mich.; four sons, Jerry DeWayne (Susan) Yoder, Middlebury, Ervin Lee Yoder, Gregory, Mich., William Lavern (Aimee) Yoder, Plymouth, Mich., and Kenneth Devon Yoder, Kendallville; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Beechy, Watoma, Wis., Alta Marie (Ervin) Miller and Katie Irene (Joe N.) Miller, both of LaGrange; brother, John Jay (Katie) Yoder, LaGrange; and brother-in-law, Melvin (Elsie) Yoder, Homer, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two stillborn great-granddaughters; sister, Susie Yoder; and brother-in-law, Aaron Beechy.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today and all day Saturday at the Christie Schlabach residence, 155 Union St., Shipshewana, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Bishop Jerry Miller and Ministers Virgil Hershberger and David Wingard will conduct the services. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is in charge of arrangements.
